2015 Elections: IPC to hold social media tweet-a-thon

The International Press Centre (IPC), Lagos-Nigeria will hold its second media tweet-a-thon with the theme: “Using new and social media to promote citizen participation in elections” on 28 August 2014.

Director of IPC, Mr. Lanre Arogundade said, Mr. Gbenga Sesan, Executive Director, Paradigm Initiative Nigeria (PIN) and Mr. Lekan Otufodunrin, Online Editor, The Nation Newspaper are the lead speakers at the event which would be interactive as there would be a question and answer session by the participants physically present as well as following on twitter and other social media channels.

Arogundade noted that the tweet-a-thon is a monthly activity supported by UNDP DGD lll aimed at promoting active media engagement and active citizens’ participation in the electoral process ahead of 2015 elections.

He urged the media and members of the public to participate in the discussion by following the hash-tag #Media4Elections on Twitter during the event.
