The NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Bamidele Johnson Olawumi, on Wednesday urged corps members involved in electoral duties to adhere strictly to electoral law and resist inducement by politicians.

Olawumi made the call in Katsina while addressing NYSC members during his farmiliarisation visit to the state. The director general told them not to be involved in any form of election malpractice or political partisanship.

He said they should respect the cultures and religions of their host communities, adding that, necessary measures had been put in place to ensure their security.

Olawumi promised to address the problems he observed during inspection of some facilities at the camp.

The Katsina State NYSC coordinator, Wilson Abiodun, said 2,073 NYSC members were posted to the state, noting that, 141 pregnant or married women are serving in their spouses places of residence.

Abiodun commended Katsina State Government for its support towards the success of NYSC programme.
