The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has announced that no caretaker coach will be appointed for the Super Eagles ahead of the 2015 Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Congo.

More than a few eyebrows were raised on Tuesday when the NFF released a list of 23 players to represent Nigeria in the September 6 contest with a national team coach yet to be named.

It was speculated that the NFF may be forced to name a caretaker manager for the Super Eagles with talks over a new contract for Keshi believed to have stalled. President of the NFF, Alhaji Aminu Maigari told supersport.com that that is not the case. “We are not considering that naming a caretaker coach because we are still discussing with Keshi. The list of players called up for the game against Congo was sent to us by Keshi,” Maigari said.
