The leadership of Labour Party in the Federal Capital Territory says it would involve the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) in its affairs in line with its constitution.

Felix Ashimole, the chairman of the party in the FCT, told NAN on Wednesday in Abuja that their involvement would enable the party to realise its objectives on labour movement.

“We also intend to get the executive members of the party at state, council and ward levels to attend NLC trainings, to equip them to function well in their various capacities,” he said.

Ashimole promised that the party would be established in all the 62 wards in the FCT.

He said that the party’s current skeletal structure in the FCT required “a little fleshing up”.

The chairman congratulated Governor Rauf Aregbesola on his re-election, saying the will of the people of Osun prevailed in the exercise.

He also congratulated Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, the party’s candidate in the state, for finishing third at the polls.

“The election shows that Labour Party is a viable progressive alternative in Osun,” he said.
