Mr Bola Ajao, the Secretary, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun, said he did not endorse the result of the governorship election because he suspected foul play.

In his reaction on Sunday shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the result of the election, Ajao said he would contact Senator Iyiola Omisore, the party’s candidate for further directive.

“Sen. Iyiola Omisore will exploit the most viable option for a way forward; I did not sign because of the integrity of the figures generated,” he said.

But Mr Kunle Oyatomi, Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy of APC, enjoined the other parties that participated in the election to join Governor Rauf Aregbesola in the development of the state through good governance.

He said in any election, a candidate had to win while others should team up in providing necessary advice and assistance to the government in power.

In his reaction, Chief Reuben Fasoranti, Leader of Afenifere, congratulated Aregbesola for winning he election.

“This is democracy in action; it is the wish of the people, he should dedicate the victory to the people.”

Alhaji Waheed Lawal, the National Vice Chairman, National Conscience Party (NCP) in the South-West, said that Aregbesola must ensure that Osun continued to grow with his victory.

He lauded INEC for the “great work”, adding the commission should continue in this way to move Nigeria forward.

He said that since the election was free and fair, NCP would abide by the result.

“Since INEC got it right from the beginning, I can say the election was credible and fair. I commend INEC for a job well done and my party will abide by the outcome.”

Lawal said that since the outcome of the election reflects the wishes of the people, the other parties should cooperate with Aregbesola to move the state forward.

He appealed to the governor to fulfill his election promises to the people.

My Sunday Akere, Osun Commissioner for Information and Strategy, thanked the electorate for the confidence reposed in the APC-led government.

He said the victory would spur the governor to do more for the people of the state.

“We advise the opposition parties to support us and forget our differences; our acceptability is unquestionable. A second term will be a period of action,” he said.
