Former Nigerian Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Nasir El-Rufai has lost his son to a car crash, the second child to die in three years.
Hamza El-Rufai died on the morning of Tuesday, 29th July, 2014, a day after the Eid-el-Fitri celebration, in Abuja.
El-Rufai himself broke the unfortunate news on his faceboook page at about 8:00 am on the morning of Tuesday, 29th July, 2014.
The post read thus: “From Allah we came and to Him we shall return. Please join our family in praying for the repose of the soul of my son, Hamza El-Rufai who died this morning in a motor accident in Abuja.”
In accordance with Islamic injunctions, the late Hamza is expected to be buried today, Tuesday, 29th July, 2014.
In November 2011, El-Rufai also lost his eldest daughter, Yasmine, who died in London after a brief illness.
