The Nigeria Police say a second explosion has rocked the ancient city of Kano.
The police announced the fresh explosion via its twitter handle.
The explosion is the second blast in the northern Nigerian city and it comes about five hours after a blast tore through a NNPC Mega Station on Hotoro quarters along Maiduguri Road, killing no four persons and injuring eight others, according to the police.
The police said the second explosion was also detonated by a suicide bomber but have not confirmed the number of casualty.
“Another #Suicide bomb in #Kano 1:40pm at Trade Fair complex, Zoo Rd close to Shoprite. 1 female bomber abt 18yrs died, 6 injured,” the police tweeted.
That was followed by yet another tweet: ” Security cordon around TradeFair & ShopRite #Kano prevented bomber access to facilities, made her detonate outside target #NPFalert.”
