Globacom saluted the fighting spirit and doggedness of the Eagles which saw them trouncing Bosnia, adding that the team need at least a draw to guarantee their qualification for the Round of 16.

“We urge the Eagles’ camp to remain focused on the task ahead. We believe that another victory is achievable and we stand by you as ever, believing fervently that you will do Nigeria proud,” Globacom said in the statement.

“Even though a draw with Argentina will ensure the Super Eagles’ qualification for the second round, winning the match will boost the team’s confidence and restore the nation’s pride. We recall that the Argentines have triumphed over the Super Eagles thrice when both teams met at previous World Cup tournaments at USA 94, Japan/Korea 2002 and South Africa 2010. It will therefore be historic and refreshing if the Super Eagles can pay back the Albicelestes in their own coins. We encourage all the players and the coaching crew to remain determined to excel throughout the 90-minute duration of the match,” the statement added.

Globacom further called on all Nigerians to continue to support and believe in the team.

“As the reigning African champions, Nigeria cannot afford to fail the continent. The coaching crew should evolve the right strategy to achieve victory to put a smile on the faces of the fans,” Globacom said.
