The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that police action against members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday 8 June was done to maintain law and order.

PDP Publicity Secretary, Olisah Metuh told SaharaReporters by phone that members of the PDP returning from a massive rally headlined by President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday came under attack today by APC members, therefore necessitating police intervention to protect party members subjected to mob attack from the rival party.
