Ailing Chike Bryan Gets N10m Lifeline

It was a relieved Chike Bryan that received a cheque of N10 million from Ibinabo Fiberesima, the national president of Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, AGN, in his Ijegun, Lagos residence.

Bryan, the ailing President of Script Writers Guild of Nigeria, SWGN, who was diagnosed of chronic renal failure since July 2013, and has been undergoing dialysis at Igando General Hospital, Lagos, received the lifeline donated by President Goodluck Jonathan to cover his urgent medical bills for kidney transplant in India.

“I am totally grateful to God and the entire Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, under the leadership of Ibinabo Fiberesima. I was relived and full of hope again,” said a visibly elated Bryan.

On Saturday, 24 May during the Africa Movie Academy Awards, AMAAs held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State,  Fiberesima had announced to the whole world the urgent donation of undisclosed amount of money by President Jonathan to meet the urgent medical bills of some ailing Nollywood practitioners including Bryan.

She disclosed that apart from Bryan, her team in AGN will in matter of days visit other ailing members of the guild who need urgent medical interventions.

Other people in attendance during the presentation of cheque to Bryan include, Ifeanyi Dikeh, Chairman, Board of Trustees of AGN; Emma Ogugua, National Secretary of AGN, Abubakar Yakubu and Stanley Okoronkwo.
