Tony Okoye, one of Nigeria’s most creative indigenous fashion designers, has unveiled new designs of his unisex clothing line, Ajeh Wears.

The new designs, which come in various sizes, are trendy and classy with a perfect blend of Western and African cuts.

Ajeh’s latest offering includes tank tops, crop tops, long and short sleeve shirts, T-shirts (round and open V-neck) and others.

Tony’s designs are inspired from the true art of African culture and paintings, and has been created since 1996.

His clothing line, ‘Ajeh’ was derived from the word ‘Ajehbuttah’, meaning born with a silver spoon.

“Due to popular demand, we collaborated with popular online stores like Konga, Jumia and Bayam. We will be partnering others in the coming months, Tony said.

“We have also opened more outlets where Ajeh can easily be purchased. In Lagos we are at Road 5, Shop I-303, Ikota Shopping Complex, VGC. We also have outlets in Calabar and Ibadan. We also welcome wholesalers and retailers as we hope to drive our brand through a vibrant network,” he said.

Ajeh Wear is quite popular amongst celebrities in Nigeria with countless number of A-list players in the country’s music, movie and comedy sectors lauding the clothing line.

American Pop star, Akon, described Ajeh Wear as “urbanizing African design, infused with rich and true African nature.”

Tony, a graduate of Creative Arts, University of Maiduguri, believes that Nigerians should embrace home made clothes like Ajeh because they are of top quality and can compete with those made abroad.
