Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state said the new state judiciary complex under construction and scheduled for completion in September would be named after late Justice Chukwudifu Oputa.

Okorocha announced this when he visited the state Chief Judge, Justice Benjamin Njemanze in his office in Owerri on Monday.

He condoled with the judiciary over the loss of one of their members whom he described as a legal icon and a household name in the Nigeria’s law profession.

“We are determined to give Oputa a befitting burial because like the late Ikemba Nnewi, Chief Odimegwu Ojukwu, Oputa made his marks in Igboland.
