NNPC is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring that the abundant gas value chain in the country is maximally explored.

Yakubu noted that the corporation would do everything possible to make the Gas Revolution Agenda successful in every ramification.

He then challenged participants of the capacity building programme to come up with creative ways of dealing with the target of fully monetising the gas resource endowment of the nation.

“This remains a crucial deliverable of the Federal Government’s Gas Revolution Agenda,” he said.

Prof. Pat Utomi of the Lagos Business School in his lecture delivered at the occasion explained that the NNPC was required to deliver the mandate of the gas-to-power strategy execution and effectiveness.

His lecture titled: “Gas Commercialisation and Economic Growth” stressed the need for NNPC to build human capital that would ensure domestic gas utilisation and provision of strong gas infrastructure.

He explained that this will protect the environment and make gas available for the people to use.

The Group Executive Director, Corporate Services, Dr Dan Efebo, assured the participants of the preparedness of management to expose them to knowledge that would enable NNPC to deliver its various core mandates.

“They are expected to run a four-module programme which includes leadership, problem solving, research work, oil and gas fundamentals and emerging trends in oil and gas industry.

“The programme, which is mandatory for senior staff has equipped staff with skills and competence for transition to management cadre in the last 24 years of the corporation,” he said.
