An Arab, 110 suspects arrested in multiple raids

One hundred and ten suspects have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command after multiple raids of black spots across the State. An Arab was also arrested in Ibafo after the police responded to a distress call by occupants of a house robbed.

The raids were carried out in Sagamu,Ijebu Ode,Ilaro, Otta and Abeokuta and the operations were supervised by the Deputy Commissioner in charge of Department of Operations DCP Akpoebi Agberebi.

In a release Sunday, the State Police Public Relations Officer,PPRO, DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi revealed that the Command worked on the intelligence gathered from the State Intelligence Bureau of the Command on black spots in Ogun, which propelled the raids and eventually led to the arrest of the suspects.

“The Command had earlier vowed to sustain its raid on black spots where” bad boys” converge to plan and execute their evil acts with a view to being proactive and flushing hoodlums out of Ogun and improve on protection of lives and property of the citizenry”,the statement reads.police logo 2

The State Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye has however ordered concerned Area Commanders, AC’s and Divisional Police Officers,DPO’s to screen the suspects properly so that only those found wanting will be charged to court.

In another development, policemen attached to Ibafo Division of the Command today arrested an Arab, Ali Mohammed from Port Harcourt at Moko near Ibafo.

” The policemen, had while responding to a distress call from the area, met about four armed men, who had burgled a house and robbed the occupants before the police team dislodged the robbers and arrested one of them”,Adejobi stated.

The Police spokesman,however disclosed that the State Police boss,CP Ikemefuna Okoye has instructed the Divisional Police Officer,DPO of Ibafo to ensure that the fleeing robbers are apprehended, advising that the Command must add more pep in curbing crimes in the area.
