Police arrest five persons with human heads and body parts

Ogun State police command and the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) from Lagos state today arrested five suspects in Joju area of Otta in Ado Odo Ota local government Area of Ogun State with human heads and body parts.

The suspects were arrested in the morning of 12 April around 9:00am, following a tip off from the residents of the area.

The five suspects were: Kubura Salami and Kafayat Popoola (both female) and Tantolorun Abimbola, Wahid Ibrahim and Adamu Rafiu (all male).

According to a statement signed by the State Police spokesman,DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Otta Division, CSP Gabreal Idibie led a team of operatives to assist SARS from Lagos, who got the first hand information.

Some exhibits which included one complete human head, pieces of human flesh in a container stained with liquid substance suspected to be human blood were recovered from the suspects and has been deposited at the Police Command, Eleweran, Abeokuta for further investigation.

The statement further revealed that the State Police Commissioner, CP Ikemefuna Okoye has ordered that the case be handed over to SARS Lagos for discrete investigation since it’s a follow up to an ongoing investigation with the Lagos men.

The Police boss, however, stated that the Ogun Command will complement Lagos command in the course of its investigation of the incident.

The statement read: “The CP also assured the general public that the police will not condone any act of criminality and inappropriate behaviour within the state, as it’s ready to harness all available resources to have robust intelligence- driven policing.”

He therefore commended the good people of Ogun State for their support always and promised that the police in the state will not disappoint them in carrying out its statutory duties.
