Many Nigerians who could not bear the way chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Femi Fani-Kayode, went to Aso-Rock where he met with President Goodluck Jonathan last night, immediately took to different social network platforms to vent their anger against him, with many calling him a betrayer of the masses of the country.

After the meeting with the President, Fani-Kayode slammed his own party, saying it is promoting one religion against another and that he would not be part of it.

While he tactically avoided speaking about the meeting with Jonathan, he told State House correspondents that he would soon make his decision on his next line of action known.

As a result of this and his comment describing Jonathan and his cabinet members as responsible, many people concluded that one of the most virulent critics of President Jonathan had left the APC to join the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the ruling party.

While some said they could not believe that he could go back to the PDP which he denigrated with so much venom until recently, others said they had expected it because he remains one of Nigeria’s “consistently inconsistent politicians.”

Okunola Sheriff, one of Fani-Kayode’s followers on Twitter, sent a message to him which read: “The legendary liar and attention seeker has again joined the looting party.”

Athur Falayi, another follower of Fani-Kayode, said: “I still don’t know why anybody would be shocked by Fani-Kayode’s action. This is Naija abeg.”

Segun Olatunji said: “President Goodluck Jonathan has got himself a new poster boy in Fani-Kayode. (I’m) not really surprised at this turn of event.”

Abdul Hasib Suenu told Fani-Kayode: “I’m so happy you finally returned to where you really belong. Happy stay with your colleagues in looting. You’re worse than Reuben Abati.”

Temmy Hamzat said he was sure that there are many others like Fani-Kayode still in the APC.

“Thank God for his defection to PDP. Looter claiming to represent Christians,” he called Fani-Kayode.
