Apparently, the rap star, M.I, is fully aware that his third album is more than highly anticipated by his loyal fans. The artiste has decided to offer a heartfelt and sincere apology to his fans when he made a quick stop over at Solid F.M. Enugu in preparation for the first stage of Star Music Trek 2014, which held at Local Government Stadium, Nsukka, Enugu State on 29 March.

“I’m really sorry about the delay. There were a number of issues I needed to sort out and it was a question of choice,” said M.I, Vice President of Chocolate City.

According to him, the album will drop sooner than many expect, and he promised that once released, it will no doubt blow his loyal fans’ mind.

Also commenting on the state of Nigeria’s hip-hop industry, M.I, acknowledged the contribution of Olamide, Phyno and Ice Prince, the trio who he described as the future of hip hop.

“Olamide, Phyno and Ice Prince are the future of hip hop. Truly, they are the next step in the evolution of everything,” M.I stressed.

The rapper affirmed that the young rappers have evolved from a long generation of artistes (Eedris Abdulkareem, Eldee, Modenine, Ruggedman, Killz, IllBliss and Dagrin) who have made a lot of difference in the Nigerian music industry.

Meanwhile, inspired by the growing audience, M.I, alongside other sensational performers like 2Face, Olamide, Phyno and Naeto C literally raised the roof as they delivered hit after hit to the delight of demanding fans at the Nsukka concert.

Host, Dotun of Cool FM, took time to welcome guests from far and wide, and later announced a surprise appearnce on stage of Dammy Krane.

The young Hypertek singer pulled the audience to its feet as he and his electrifying dancers took over the stage to perform Appreciate and his other hits.

2Face, later joined M.I, in the last few minutes of the latter’s performance. His band members and dancers offered just what his fans were eagerly waiting for, a nostalgic combination of his old and new hit songs.
