A 30-year old robbery suspect, Tajudeen Oloko, has declared that he has no regrets being an armed robber because it was through robbery that he was able to take care of his family.

The suspect was recently arrested by men of Lagos State Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, in his hideout in Lekki area of Lagos, western Nigeria.

The father of two kids, who is still in police custody, told P.M.NEWS that he went into armed robbery to provide the basic needs  for his immediate family, saying he was satisfied that  he had provided enough money that will take care of them, even when he is not around.

He said these include some of the properties he acquired in Lekki, which he had willed to his wife and  children.

“Mr reporter, let me tell you, I have no regrets joining armed robbery gang, I experienced poverty which affected my immediate family. I joined robbery to get out of the poverty circle. Since I became a robber, my wife and children don’t lack money anymore,” he added

Oloko said that he had saved enough money for his immediate family before he was arrested.

“My two children attend the best school on Victoria Island in Lagos and I have paid five years school fees in advance,” he disclosed

The diehard suspected robber also disclosed the secret of his success before he was eventually caught. This include having sex with women above 60 years for the effective use of the charms he wears during operation.

He confessed that whenever he wanted to go for robbery operation, he would have sex with old women and this had worked for him until he was arrested.

“If I sleep with women above 60 years, my charms will be more effective. They will give me strength and protection while operating. Ordinarily if I was prepared, the police wouldn’t have arrested me but I had dropped my charms and was with my friends when they came after me,” the suspect boasted.

Oloko said the police arrested  him in a popular hotel in Lekki where he went to enjoy his loot with some of his gang members after his last operation which he got N600,000.

He said there was nothing to regret because he knew that he would be arrested one day and his only consolation was that he left enough money for his family as he had planned.

Oloko confessed that he had been involved in several robbery operations in Lagos, Ogun and Kwara states and had acquired enough wealth.

When asked how he got weapons for operation, Oloko disclosed that it was easy for him to buy guns because he made a lot of money from robbery operations.

He said he gets his guns for N200,000 each from a supplier from Republic of Benin, who is now on the run, after he heard about his arrest.

Oloko, however, denied killing any policeman but admitted that he cannot say whether he had killed anybody during operation.

He is being detained in the police cell while the police continue investigation on how to arrest his other gang members who are now at large.
