Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, southwest, Nigeria has announced the extension till end of March, the deadline given for the collection and submission of forms for the Homeowners Charter initiative.

After considering the requests made by the residents during his tour of the designated centres for the programme, the governor approved the extension so as to enable people benefit from the opportunity which
allows property owners in the state to get Building Plan Approval and Certificate of Occupancy at discounted rate.

In a statement issued Thursday from the office of the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Alhaji Yusuph Olaniyonu, the people now have additional one month to collect forms and submit them.

The initial deadline was February 28 when the scheme was launched in Abeokuta last year.

The Commissioner stated that the new deadline will enable the officials in charge of the programme enough time to attend to the huge crowd witnessed at the various centres.

He added that government has directed that the number of centres should be increased while submission hours are to be extended for the rest of the period of the initiative.

The government commended the residents, who have since been trooping out to embrace the Homeowners Charter programme, for the confidence they reposed in the present administration, as it pursues with zeal the Mission to Rebuild Ogun State.
