Imagine a bride soaked in tears on her big day! That was the lot of popular Yoruba actress, Iyabo Ojo, on the day she got ‘married’ to Nollywood hunk Joseph Benjamin. This incident happened on the set of Iyabo’s highly anticipated English movie, Silence, a story woven around the ‘couple’.
On Monday, 17 February, the actress released the first trailer of the big-budget movie which would be premiered in April before the final cinema release.
Silence, written and produced by Iyabo, and directed by Tinsel director, Alex Mouth,has its theme centred on child abuse, its consequences and how to overcome the challenges of child abuse.
Apart from Iyabo and Benjamin, the movie features a cast of Nollywood figures.
The major characters include Alex Usifo, Doris Simeon, Tina Mba, Biola Williams, Fathia Balogun and Bukky Wright.

According to Iyabo, producing Silence, her first English movie, is her greatest challenge so far.
“One of the major challenges was getting the right cast for this movie. I got an unusual cast…and getting them to work together was not easy because most of them had not worked together before,” the single mother of two said.
The 34-year old actress, who joined the Nigerian movie industry in 1988, has stared in over 200 movies. She has equally written and produced over 10 movies of her own.
