Nigerian music superstar, 2Face Idibia, has debunked the news spreading on the social media that he has impregnated another lady (a banker with one of the new generation banks in Lagos) and pleaded with her to abort the pregnancy.

In a series of Twitter messages posted on Monday night, the singer, whose wife, Annie Macauley-Idibia, recently put to bed another baby girl in the United States, said that the entire story of the pregnancy and abortion were “mere concocted lies” to portray him as an adulterer and tarnish his reputation.

“Everybody make una see fake blog @AfricanCelebSpy with fake news trying 2 soil my reputation. GOD go judge una…The whole world knows I am an open book. If anything happen na me go first tell una…Ok, make I give dem news; I don give 8 virgins belle. How about that? In fact, I wan create one local government. I just dey start…@AfricanCelebSpy BE CAREFUL! Stop spreading lies,” 2Face tweeted in pidgin English to debunk the story.

He, however, enjoined everyone to disregard those blog sites that  copied and published same purported adultery story.

The singer threatened to take on the bloggers at the appropriate time.

“Guys please ignore all these new blogs trying 2 drive traffic 2 their site. I’ll handle them,” 2Face added.

Earlier Monday, the internet went viral after a new soft sell magazine, Icon Weekly, published on its cover a story that 2Face had impregnated and was expecting baby number eight from a banker who has been his account officer for a couple of years.

The magazine claimed that the lady is three months pregnant for 2Face and that she has refused to terminate the pregnancy as requested by the Benue State-born singer.

This  prompted the singer to take to Twitter to debunk the story.

Also speaking with P.M.NEWS this morning, a source close to 2Face corroborated the singer’s position, describing both the story and the blogs that published it as fake.

According to him, “the entire story is a concoction by a ragsheet which is struggling to gain visibility in the media space by soiling the reputation of a great icon. If you check the entire report, it is neither here nor there, same with the illiterate bloggers who feasted on the lies to drive traffic,” the source said.

2Face already has seven children from three women. Early last year, he married one of the women, Annie, a Nollywood actress, with whom he has two of the children.

Reacting to the purported pregnancy tale Annie expressed disappointment with one of the bloggers @AfricaCelebspy, who she accused of helping to spread the false news.

“@AfricaCelebSpy, hope u hv gotn al d traffic needed for ur blog? Thr is no diff b/w u n Icon mag! Evil pple tryn 2 tke suga out of our tea,” the new mom tweeted early this morning.
