It was all smiles for the Super Eagles after the match against Harambee Stars of Kenya at the weekend, as some promises made to the team for the Nations Cup triumph were fulfilled.

First to fulfill his promise was the Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola, who sent a top official of the Lagos State Youth, Sports and Social Development Ministry, Mrs Oluyomi Oluwasanmi to deliver cheques to the players and officials of the team.

Mrs Oluwasanmi said that she was specifically instructed by Governor Fashola to make the cheques available to the players before they play against Kenya.

“Despite the draw against Kenya, you can see that the players were really excited with our Governor and the people of Lagos. It will continue like that because Governor Fashola, apart from being a footballer, is a true lover of youth development at all levels,” Mrs Oluwasanmi said.
