TVC Entertainment Increases Viewership Base

Television Continental Entertainment (TVC E), one of Nigeria’s top three most watched TV stations in Lagos, has increased its viewership base.

The station rated number two among the top 7 most watched TV stations in Lagos, in the 2012 All Product and Media Survey (AMPS) report, is said to have recorded a significant growth rate and now controls 13% of the total TV viewers in Lagos, as against 6% in 2011.

Speaking on the recent development, Celestine Umeibe, the Public Relations Manager of Continental Broadcasting Service Ltd, said: “The progress made so far can only be attributed to professionalism. We have improved on the way we do things internally.

We now work more professionally and that has contributed to the improved quality programmes, increased our audience base and the rating of our TV station.”

Some members of the public also confirmed to P.M.News that in recent times, the picture quality, signal coverage and the programmes on TVC E have improved tremendously.

Also speaking on the development, the company’s Deputy Director of Programmes, Morayo Afolabi Brown stated that the organisation is investing heavily in content/programmes development and acquisition.

Morayo added that the priority for the 24-hour entertainment TV station now is to constantly improve on existing programmes and develop more exciting programmes to meet audience needs and drive more eyeballs to the station.

Some notable and highly rated programmes on TVC E includes Entertainment Splash, the Art Express, Events Dairy, This Morning; the Children cartoon belt, the Nollywood movies and recently introduced Boombox, a musical youth programme.
