Assuring that those trying to turn the communities in the state into theatres of violence would fail, Ahmed warned that anyone caught disrupting public order under any guise would be made to face the full wrath of the law irrespective of their status if apprehended.

Notwithstanding that the situation in the two warring communities has been brought under control by security agencies, the governor expressed his administration’s determination to find lasting solutions to the age-long boundary dispute between the duo communities while also ensuring that the tragic events do not recur.

He lamented that what started as a conflict ostensibly over the location of motor parks in both communities was allowed to escalate into violence resulting in the loss of lives and property worth millions of naira.

“Let me make it clear to all concerned that never again will this kind of carnage be allowed to happen in any part of the state. No more will our people live in fear because a few selfish elements are bent on violence,” Ahmed warned.
