    Fly over to poverty……mfuckers………

  2. What so special in commissioning of a fly over.

  3. It doesn’t required wisdom of any Solomon nor analytical efforts of Sayer to tell any right thinking person that Ogun State fast developing.

  4. frank akin

This is good but wait until this man leave office and we will see how much money he stole from ogun state rushing this project. Ogun is in debt to china. ogun need water and power not road. He is putting the cart before the horse.

    • Brother, his wife was spotted at the GOLD store in DUBAI during last year HUMURRAH with enough DOLLARS & POUND STERLINGS when she removed her HIJAB. She was recognized by another partner in crime and the GOLD sellers were so happy to see her back. She left the country for HUMURRAH and ended up in DUBAI.(MUMMY,I DEY LIE).

      • Banjo

You are a fool! Which form of Umrah did she attend? the woman is a practising Christian!!! Come off these lies….

        • Banjo, kindly ask the first lady may be she travelled to DUBAI last year during HUMURRAH.(5 to 6 months ago). There’s nothing bad in shopping but why was she wearing GREEN HIJAB to gold store, why the gold sellers so happy to have her back.

Mr. Ode, we need logistic to give way for other developments. Although I did not support the flamboyant ceremony the governor performed to commemorate the bridge birthday….at least we have the first permanent change in the city of Abeokuta .since over 100 years ago.

  5. Chioma

First flyover bridge since 1976 when Ogun state was established. Amosun deserves commendation.

  6. Kenechukwu

The magnitude of this celebration just becuase of a flyover demostrate how backward Nigeria appears in the sight of the outside world despite all the bilions and trinions of Naira that is passing through various state and fedral government accounts each year.
I am not critisizing the Governor for his initiative which I feel is quite good in terms of development but my aguement is that Nigerians celebration of ordinary bridge at this twenty first century with all the dignitaries present at the occation shows the extent of damage and disappointment Nigeria have done to African and black race in my view.
I think this is a competitive world, Nigerian should check the statistic of hundreds and thousands of bridges being built and completed every day in India and Brasil, if they chose to celebrate because of ordinary bridge, then there will be only celebrations and public holidays every day in those countries each day. There is no shame anymore in Nigeria even among the politicians and the elites. Does it mean they don’t have advisers? does it mean they don’t travel to other nations? Are they blinds? Do they think other part of the is not watching them?. The sam rubish is happening in south East, South south South west and all part of the North.
I have never seen a nation that celebrate failure and disappointment our country Nigeria. A bridge built since the independent 1960? a bridge built since 1976?.

MIMIKO of ONDO STATE should copied from this, instead of doing cosmetic project thats is meant to be done by Local Government,he should embark on real project dat can make a city!!

How does the flyover affect the common man, is it going to put money in thier pocket or food on thier table. Mimiko project touch the lives of the commons directly like the ABIYE program. so if you want to celebrate flyover that am sure you don,t even have a car to drive on continue to do that and take your eyes away from ONDO.

  9. MALLAM SHEHU

I CAN’T STOP LAUGHING O! THANK ALLAH YOU DID NOT INVITE THE U.S. AMBASSADOR TO THE EVENT, OR ELSE I WON’T BE THE ONLY PERSON LAUGHING. TINUBU, HOW MANY TIMES DID YOU HEAR ABOUT AN “ELABORATE” CEREMONY TO OPEN AN OVERPASS ALL THE TIME YOU WERE IN CHICAGO?
OVERPASSES ARE BUILT AND OPENED EVERY DAY IN U.S. I COULD SEE WHY IT IS SUCH A BIG DEAL IN NIGERIA BECAUSE THERE ARE NO ROADS SO BUILDING ONE IS SURELY A BIG DEAL.

  10. Walter Ijeoma

Just look at the look on his face, for him mind him don do one big thing. Shame on all of you!

  11. Tensiond

    What a shame. Big shame.

  12. gandoki

i go die oh nigerian goverment go kill person.. open borehole govt will commission, fly over.. no wahala we dey kampe

  13. OGBENI NAIJA

It is only in country like Nigeria that politicians will roads, portable water, infrastructure and other amenities to campaign. I think the elaborate and extravagant commissioning is just an avenue created for some party chieftain girl friends to make money.i wonder what they will do if they want to commission space station, airport, sea port or rail station.NIGERIA IS STILL BACKWARD.

  17. Total-facts

I’m here to exact most people opinion and interpretation on political class, we be predisposed too focused on castigating our leaders’ even some people that could not administer their wives let alone their immediate family will also come on board to say all sort of debris for the reason they have opportunity to free comments.

Before I move further on my comment, let me undoubtedly apprise anybody who may care to know and read my comment that I am not in any way an elected official nor do I practice politics but the fact remains that the truth needed to be said. I am from Lagos State and I have live all my formative years and topical life in Lagos, I only came into Abeokuta few weeks back for an imperative issue about my personal life and I saw what the current Governor of Ogun State is doing as a development, honestly it shouldn’t have been so special to me for the reason that I live in Lagos and I comprehend what Governor Fashola has transformed Lagos into but it’s good when you see good things and appreciate it either diminutive or gigantic.

I more often than not come to Abeokuta to visit and say hello to my elder sister in the past, I knew how Abeokuta look like as it happened to be the nastiest capital among the south west states. Few years back Ilorin was urbanized by the past administration under the leadership of Governor Bukola Saraki, while Osun, Ekiti, Ondo and Ibadan Capital is quite developed. Before now Abeokuta look like a wilderness village but a governor came on board to develop it and some people were now saying some sort of debris on his project, have you asked yourself what did the past administration did in both Federal and State in their eight years as a leader? These are the people who had the opportunity to rule in both federal and state level almost at the same time from the same party and you could only record few or nothing in terms of development and yet you people did not have anything to say to those people when they are ruling and after they left office.

I will only advise you people to fasten together hand in prayer to assist him (governor of Ogun State) in his project and put out of your mind on their ceremonial opening, at least if he preferred to let people notice he’s doing work through that medium, it’s far better than the administration that will only showcase pictures of achievement without anything to back it up. You will only need to give him few months on his project and see what Abeokuta will look like by the end of 2013 as extremely sure you will praise him high than how you have chastised him in the past. To God be thy glory, Abeokuta will soon be like small Lagos before 2015 according to what I am seeing currently in the way the Government of Ogun State has arrived at till date.

My advice for Governor Ibikunle Amosun if God allows itt to get to you anyhow and anyway, in order for you to get more prayers, praises from your people, from both young and old people in Ogun State, it’s clearly that federal Government handle electricity issue but water problem is one of the potent issues affecting people of Ogun state, in particular the students as I have seen where students will be caring bucket from one location to one location searching for water. It will be great if your administration could make financial arrangements for fifty electrical boreholes not the jigger type to each local government more than ever the area where they lack tap water.

For instance, Adigbe (Oluwo, Saraki, Mango and Alowonle-Opako, onikolobo etc) area of Obafemi Owode Local Government where you have far above the ground population of Students dominant needed the water most to my observation because I have not gone round the other local government as it will be better if five boreholes could be mounted in different locations as in five in Mango area, five in Oluwo area, five in Alowonle area, five in Saraki area, five in Onikolobo area etc by spreading it round the area and of course this project maybe cheaper compare to the road projects because one borehole may not be more than a million naira comprising the amenities but the praises will be more than the roads constructed. At-least it will allow your first-rated job get closer to the people you are governing in order to make them speechless.

May God in His infinite mercy that allowed governor Fashola to be triumphant in his projects and being rated as the preeminent governor in the Nigeria history will also assist you in completing your heart desire for your people even if some of them don’t appreciate it but remember that you only needed God appreciation.

    • Kunle

      You too talk!

    • krs1

Nigeria is not ready to disentangle herself from the grip of idiots. Road is the easiest thing to construct because we have the materials and the knownlege is available every where. Even if he makes road construction a priority why not construct a very good one? Whose money is he using? How is God involved in the non-sense the do there in the name of politics? I bleed with grieve to read the thoughts of some nigerians because i do not know the planet they come from. Every where you turn to in nigeria is misery and pains for the majority of the people that are being deceived and killed every day and you are here praising this idiot who calls himself a governor that the best he can do is to construct a bridge welders can construct and you call that achievements? God help us.

  18. Edo Man

What is the Commissioner for works’s duty.

  19. Gbenga

Some people, are funny and not being realistic, how can we be comparing US, CHICAGO and other advance countries with ours. let the governor continue his mission to rebuild Ogun State. Let criticise constructively and not destructively

  20. naubiko

The money for the ceremony is even more than the whole project itself with the digni thievies in attendance. Only in Nigeria. looks like an ACN propaganga

  21. manny

Kudos to present administration in Ogun state. Citizens of the state deserve all Infrastructure they can get.Other capital cities in south west are doing the same.
Oyo state is constructing a flyover at Mokola junction in Ibadan presently and expanding New Bodija Road.
I live in Boston and I go home regularly. Many of us in diaspora should endeavour to visit their respective homeland once a while.Don’t let all the negatives things you read dissuade you from keeping in touch with your fatherland.Chicago was not built overnight.
Abeokuta social-economic development arguably has been robbed off by been unfortunately sandwiched between Lagos and Ibadan, not to talk of lacklustre past administrators and yet few Cities in Nigeria have produced reputable Human personnel that have served the country in various capacities like the Rock city.
Our politicians should do away with corruption that has turned the entire country into a banana republic and invest in re-building the entire nation.

  22. Yomi Oloko

It’s a shame that in this 21st century while other countries are sending satellites to Mars, ground breaking medical discoveries, setting up very high speed train networks or high and lengthy suspension bridges Ogun State called out all their dignitaries to celebrate a short concrete flyover. So what will Lagos State do when they commission Nigeria first suspension bridge, invite world dignitaries.

  23. Ayour Pee

@ Yomi … It’s not unAfrican to celebrate. That’s why in the days of our fore fathers you hear of celebrations like New Yam festival, Egungun festival and what do you say to a friend that just bought common bicycle? “We go wash am o”

It’s normal to celebrate and building the first fly over in Ogun State is worth celebrating … it’s like breaking a jinx because i dont know why none has been built up till now. Rather than pretending as if we dont celebrate in our homes (sadist), we should rejoice with the government and people of Ogun State for this landmark in infrastructural development

  24. bidemi

politicians they always create ways to chop this govt money only God know for now how much will go for the ceremony

  25. IG

Lets appreciate ACN governor for their initiative and encourage them to do more instead of bulling, I’m from Gbongan in Osun state lives in United Kingdom, I recently travel to Nigeria, I can see good job in Lagos, visiting other ACN state to confirm what is happening to the fact.
Honestly, In Osun, I was speechless Mr Aregbesola did wonderful thing there, coming back to Ibadan Oyo state, Ajimobi is trying to clear & clean all the mess Ibadan city is now warring a new look, one can see this is crystal clear.
In Ogun state (Abeokuta) in particular, its wonderful to see new thing on ground, In Ekiti state, I can’t even believe what I saw, I was still thinking may be I’m lagos, if not for the Ekiti dialet I can hear arround me, I would say this is lagos extention, now going to Edo to confirm the true picture of actual job done as some people are saying Mr. Oshiomole have transform the entire Edo state to mini- London even decided to stay till next day, most of the major road are litted, I just open my mouth wide, its beautiful. On my way back passing through Ore via Ondo town ( passing thru Sabo area – Kola re-wire to Akure Road its the same as I left it 8 – 9yrs ago) even the jamboree dualisation of few kilometer (not up 10 Kilometer) nver completed since they’ve started according people I interview arround that area, Akure is still the same, only to see equivalent of BRT lane, but its major main road is not wide enough like that of Lagos (copying Fashola Ideas), I called my Old friend from Anambra state which happen to come from the same constituency with Dr. Chris Ngige but different village, (about 45 mile to Ngige village) confirm and lamenting and praying that God should give Ngige more aboundant life so that Ngige can serve & help them more for their contituency development, this just view confirmation from me alone with view day tour on my holiday in Nigeria.
I just pray that the Era of PDP will never come to all those area I visited again because of the level of transformation going on there, I dont belong to any political party, but I love to identify with progress and development of human kind. and promise to visit again & again if GOD permit and let’s encourage them all these people to do more and may Almighty God help to continue to what is right again & again.

This is what is wrong with African Leaders. Celebration of ignorance and stupidity. Here is a common flyover constructed by a foreign firm being commission by a multitude of ignorant sycophants. This is what happen in a country of the blinds when one eye man becomes the King.

Please Amosun, do not forget Ipokia, Idamo, Ileshi, Tube, Ago-Shasha, Ibodease, Ibadefin, Ijofin, etc. All these places are neglected. Abeokuta is not the only city in oGUN sTATE. pLEASE remember all these places.

In addition, the last time I visited the onlt primary school in Ileshi, Methodist primary school founded in 1955, pupils were sitting under the tree on bear ground, the colonial classrooms are delapidated, no sit for the pu[pil to sit down.

Please! please!! and please!!! Governor Amosu help these pupils. Please help them. Tis is real development if good schools are provided with infrastructure in all parts of the sate abnd not only nin Abeokuta.

You are celebrating sand, cement, granite, reinforcement and water with black and white paint.

  30. Olaniran

that is the craziness tinubu is carrying all over.

  31. Nnamdi

Fellow Nigerians, we are really missing the link. With due respect to all who have commented and will comment, the main issues are follows:

    (1) There is nothing wrong with the bridge or flyover, but what annoys me is the fun fare attached to the celebration and so called commissioning.

    (2) will it not be on record that Amosun built it?

    (3) As one of the contributors rightly said, what will happen if we built a space station or send unmanned aircraft to the space?

    (4) All the celebration usually attached to basic infrastructures built in Nigeria, demonstrate the strategic blindness of the elites.

    (5) I quite agree that such development or project (good) has been scarce in Ogun, but the celebration does not add up.

    (5) How can i tell my Singapore friends that a sitting governor in Nigeria celebrated ordinary flyover in 21 st century when the little island with less than 5 million population is one of the largest refiners of crude oil without a single hydrocarbon.

    (6) I am not trying the compare Singapore ( Country) and Ogun (state) so that critics will be armed with a flawed conclusion, but the real issue is that our leaders are inept and incapable of formulating ingenious polices necessary to solve the numerous problems facing us now and in future.

FLYOVER IS GOOD BUT THE FUN FARE ATTACHED TO IT RIDICULES IT.

  32. Steve

I am a bit depressed by the ugly comments of outsiders who attacked the official commissioning of the first flyover in Abeokuta. We the natives of Egba and the residents of Abeokuta have been subjected to humiliating rape and neglect by successive past regimes especially the last PDP led by Otunba Gbenga Daniel.May I submit that only enemies of Ogun State and the Egbas dare condemn the novel idea.We are solidly behind our Governor. SIA,Eyi o wu a wi Toluwa lase.

  33. Animals, if them do you go complain, if them no do you go complain exactly where do you mother fuckers complaining stand . I BET MOST OF YOU WILL WISH it wasyour PDP DOING THIS. We the residents of Abeokuta appreciate this and if you don,t abeg hug trans former. Obasanjo was president for 8 yrs and nothing like this was seen.

  34. Iyke chris

So just because of one small flyover, the whole state came to a stop still? there is a big problem in Nigeria. when will we ever uplift our statu? It’s a big shame

  35. Ola - Olododo

GOVERNOR ROTIMI AMAECHI OF RIVERS STATE, YOU DEY SLEEP. PLEASE WAKE UP AND FREE THE RESIDENTS OF IWOFE, ELIOPARAWON AND OGOGBORO BY COMPLETING THEIR ROADS YOU DESTROYED WITH YOUR DECEPTIVE CATAPILLARS. YOU DESTROYED THE ROADS AND LEFT WITHOUT COMPLETING THEM. IT IS A BIG SHAME THAT YOU NOW TURN TO BE A TERRIBLE LEADER IN RIVERS STATE AFTER YOU WON SECOND TERM TICKET. MAY GOD GIVE RIVERS STATE AN AMOSUN.

TO ALL WHO ARE DERIDING AMOSUN’S CELEBRATION: IT CALLS FOR MORE THAN CELEBRATION. IT IS A WAY OF SHOWING THE WORLD THAT GOOD THING CAN FOLLOW A BAD THING. PDP’S FORMER GOVERNOR, OGD (OLOSA, GBAJUE DANIEL) WAS A BAD THING AND GOD IN HIS INFINITE MERCY AND POWER OF BEING ABLE TO DO ALL THINGS, GAVE US (OGUN STATE IS MY HOME TOWN THOUGH I LIVE IN PORTHARCOURT) AMOSUN OF ACN. IT IS WORTHY OF CELEBRATIONS. GOD WILL REPLACE OF BAD LEADERS IN NIGERIA, INCLUDING AMAECHI OF RIVERS STATE, WITH GOOD LEADERS LIKE AMOSUN.

  36. felix adebayo

amosun did well for the construction, but it is part of his duty/. he is doing what he is elected for. why the celebrations? nigeria is still very backward simple

  37. rock

all of you ACN loyalist , pretending to be in London, but deecieving people to the fraudulent nature of ACN and its chieftains. Tinubu remains the biggest thief in this country, now all ACN governors are following is footstep just like their fellow thieves in PDP. those bridges are nothing but mere long-time political strategy to divert peoples attention from human development. ACN,PDP they are all thieves. God will definately judge all of them.Fashola second tenure is for massive looting.

  38. Taiwo

Let me congratulate the governor and the good of people of Ogun state. On the occasion of the official commissioning of the 1st ever fly-over in Ogun state..Although it may sound ridiculous that a state that has produced head of state/president twice is just having a fly-over..The parliamentarian should not see this as making a political score but as a means of appreciating God and the good people of Ogun state. Gov. Amosu should go ahead to build more of such a worthy land mark project in all the federating urban and town.

  39. bambe adebayo

In some cases, we need to appreciate some good doings of this people despite acknowledging the fact that they cannot be exonerated from embezzlement and other form corruptions they are known for .Flash your mind back to Daniel administration. if what Amosun is doing now in Ogun State Daniel did half of it . the situation of roads in the state would have been a different thing entirely in terms structures and other facilities. In about few months to come, the road connecting toll gate and Ojuore in Otta environs will be constructed and the people of Otta will be smiling that they now have a good road in their community. please, if you want to criticize ,criticized constructively

  40. OGUNLEYE ADETOLU

The bridge was constructed due to the spirit of revenge in Senator Ibikunle Amosun. To my best of knowledge, i think it was a wasteful expenditure for constructing a bridge at ibara roundabout. they shoud use the money for something better….
