Anenih, Senator Mustapha make new NPA board

Chief Tony Anenih, Senator Lekan Mustapha and Senator Florence Ita Giwa have been appointed by President Goodluck Jonathan into the board of Nigeria Ports Authority, with Anenih as the chairman.

A Thursday night statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim announced the appointments, along with the board appointments for Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety (NIMASA), and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC),

Other members of the NPA board are Hamza Dan Mahawi, Alhaji Aminu Baba Danagundi and Mr. Austin Enyonnia Cosmos. The Ministry of Transport will also appoint a representative on the board.

Lt.Col Agbu Kefas heads the new NIMASA board, with Ibrahim Mark, Alhaji Hassan Baba, Alhaji Aliyu Usman, as members. The Navy, Ministries of transport and labour will also appoint representatives.

The Corporate Affairs Commission hitherto headed by Jimoh Ibrahim, now has Funso Lawal as the new chairman. The other members are Alh. Sanusi Maijama’a, representing NACCIMA, Mr. Okoro Osita Franklin, represnting Nigeria Bar Association, Chief Mrs. Elizabeth Omereson, representing the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and Dr. Ausbeth N. Ajagu who is representing the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria.The Securities and Exchange Commission has N. Salma-Mann and Ministry of Justice, Professor Adedeji Adekunle. The ministries of Finance and Trade and Investment are yet to announce their representatives.

Government said the date for the formal inauguration of members “will be announced in due course.”
