Ex-Oyo state governor Olunloyo joins ACN

A former governor of Oyo state, Dr. Omololu Olunloyo and former chairman of Ibadan South west Local, Alhaji Tajudeen Ajibade, have dumped the Peoples Democratic Party to join the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria.

They were received, along with others into the fold at the ACN secretariat in Ibadan by Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

Speaking at the occasion, Olunloyo called on Ajimobi to expedite action on the markets being constructed for displaced traders and also urged him to continue the state government’s environmental beautification programme.

Balogun said he and other joined the ACN because of Ajimobi efforts in transforming and repositioning the state.

On his part, Ajimobi said his government has located 27 sites to build new markets for traders in the state.

Ajimobi said that all the identified locations would have modern markets with a view to ending road side trading in the state.

The governor said traders were asked to vacate road pavements to reduce accidents and to maintain environmental sanitation of the state capital.

Ajimobi said the measure would also end flood disaster in the state, adding that the demolition of illegal structures would benefit the people.
