Eagles To Play Angola In Friendly Tie

The Super Eagles of Nigeria would confront Angola and another yet to be disclosed African country in the last two friendly matches after the already scheduled one against Catalonia on 2 January, 2013.

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, spokesman and Assistant Director of Communication, Ademola Olajire has disclosed to Goal.com that apart from the already agreed Eagles’ tune up match against Catalonia, there is going to be at least two more friendly matches against African opposition which he refused to disclose.

But he revealed that negotiations and discussions have reached almost a concluding stage between the NFF Match Agent and the countries involved.

However, it was confirmed that Angola is one of the two African countries the Eagles are expected to play warm up matches against.

“The only friendly match I can confirm for now that the Eagles would play on 2 January, 2013 is against Catalonia. The other two against African countries are under wrap but I don’t want to beat the gun and make it public now until discussions are finalised,” the NFF image maker also said.

He also disclosed further the arrival date of Super Eagles handler, Stephen Keshi whom he said would arrive on Saturday in Lagos. But, he will hit Abuja on Monday to meet with both the Technical Department of the NFF and the Technical Committee of the football house to discuss his final phase of camping for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
