Glo Golf Tour: Okpor, Omare Pick Amateur Trophies

Captain (rtd) Charles Omare emerged winner of the amateur competition at the Asaba leg of the Glo Golf Tour, West Africa, while Faith Okpor won the ladies category of the same competition.

Both champions are of the Asaba Golf and Country Club. Okpor won with 34 points, playing handicap 17, while runner-up Ruth Orioko, who is also the Lady Captain of the club, played 30 points, handicap 26.

Omare emerged winner of the men’s competition with 38 points, handicap 11, closely followed by second placed Justin who played 34 points handicap 12 and Ibrahim James who came third with a score of 32 points handicap 7.

Besides the overall winners who went home with gifts from Globacom, including trophies and iPads, there was a prize for the Longest Drive On Hole 18 and the Nearest Pin On Hole 17, which went to Dan Ikpemama for a 3.2-foot putt.

The amateur event moves to the Elephant Cement Golf and Country Club tomorrow.
