Dana Air begins test flight

Dana Air on Wednesday began its test flight in preparation for the resumption of scheduled passenger flight operations.

The airline’s spokesman, Mr Tony Usidamen, said the test flights would be followed by demonstration flights.

The test flight which took off from the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, at about 4 p.m.

Usidamen confirmed that after the test flight, demonstration flights would follow, adding that it would finally lead to scheduled commercial flight operations.

According to him, the purpose of the test flight is to determine the serviceability of the aircraft ground equipment.

It would be recalled that Dana Air was cleared by the Federal Government to resume scheduled commercial flight operations after three months suspension by the government.

The suspension followed the ill-fated plane crash of one of its aircraft MC Donnell Douglas MD 83 on June 3, at Iju-IShaga area of Lagos, killing 153 persons. (NAN)
