Ibinabo Fiberesima, Ras Kimono honored

Newly elected national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Ibinabo Fiberesima and Raggae music star, Ras Kimono were yesterday, Sunday, 30 September, 2012 honoured at the 6th annual Nigeria Media Nite Out Award held at KOGA Event Centre, Alausa-Ikeja, Lagos.

Ibinabo, who was sworn-in as the first female president of AGN on Saturday, was honoured with the Outstanding Nollywood Personality of the year award, while Kimono scooped the Music Personality of the year category.

Other entertainers honoured during the event themed ‘Advantages and Disadvantages of Freedom of Information Bill (FOI)’ include Hakeem Rahman and Oritse Femi, while P.M.NEWS’ Bayo Adetu got the Entertainment Writer of the Year award.

According to the award organizer, Sola Olugbenro of Solkem Entertainment, in the last six years, Nigeria Media Nite Out Award has been honouring deserving media personalities who have excelled in their field.

“We also honour those who have contributed to the general growth of the media in one way or the other, and that is why this year, we gave award to eminent personalities such as Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Rochas Okorocha, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Oba Saheed Ademola, the Elegushi Kusanla, Ikate land among others,” Olugnenro hinted.
