VP Sambo in Tehran for NAM summit  print

Vice President Namadi Sambo arrived in Tehran, Iran, on Wednesday night for the 16th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

Malam Umar Sani, the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media said the VP was received at the Tehran International Airport by the Nigerian Ambassador to Iran, Mr Tukur Mani, the Minister of State 1 for Foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Onwuleri and the Iranian Minister of Education, Dr Haji Bobai.

The two-day summit is being attended by all the 120 member countries, and 21 observer countries, as well as the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon.

The theme of the summit is maintaining global peace
