Former member of the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Association, NFA, James Peters, has tipped Nigeria’s Flamingoes to shine at the FIFA U-17 Women World Cup slated for Azerbaijan in September.

Flamingoes, who were shown the exit door in the quarter final stage in the last edition of the tournament held in Colombia, have been drawn in the same group with the host nation Azerbaijan, Colombia, and Canada.

Commenting on the coming tournament, the former Green Eagles’ coach expressed confidence in the Flamingoes, maintaining that the team will do the country proud in Azerbaijan.

“I believe that the Flamingoes will give a good account of themselves in the tournament. The players are good and I don’t see the likes of Azerbaijan, Colombia or Canada hindering them from advancing to the knockout stage,” said Peters.

However, Peters appealed to the team not to throw caution to the winds, adding that there is a need to make adequate preparation for the tournament.

“They need to make adequate preparation and work hard before the competition begins in September. I believe that the sky is the limit for them if they can prepare very well for the competition because there are good players in the team,” concluded Peters.
