National athletics Coach, Innocent Egbunike has tipped Obinna Metu to win a medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Metu emerged winner of the men’s 100m gold at the 66th All Nigeria Athletics Championships, which end  today at the U J Esuene Stadium in Calabar, Cross River State.

Egbunike, a former athlete himself, believes that Metu, of the Nigeria Prison Service, has what it takes to win a medal if he maintains or improves on his current form.

The coach stressed that Metu showed that the training tour he had with Team Nigeria athletics team was not in vain.

“Metu was a delight to watch, he went into the race as if it was the final of the Olympics, I just hope and pray he keeps this form going into the Olympics,” Egbunike said.
