Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State will be presented with a Good Governance Wrestling Award in Benin City, Edo State tomorrow.
Organisers of the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole International Pro-Wrestling Championship, said they are honouring the governor for his support for sports and good governance in Edo State in the last four years.
Prince Hammed Olanrewaju Mohammed, the Initiator/Co-ordinator of the professional wrestling championship, who is also the Financial Secretary of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Lagos, Oshiomhole deserves the award. He also disclosed that the professional wrestling tournament in celebration of his reign in Edo will take place in the state.
“We want to appreciate our Comrade, the Edo governor with this award and a professional wrestling championship, which will take place in Edo State later this month,” said the former Nigerian wrestling champion in a statement made available to P.M.Sports.
“The wrestling tourney, which will take place at six centres across Edo State, will parade top wrestlers in Europe, America, Asia and Africa. Some of our local wrestlers will also take part in this competition that will shake Edo State,” he said.
Prince Mohammed said a Local Organising Committee, LOC, has been constituted to organise the tournament.
