Afro beat King, Femi Anikulapo-Kuti, will be 50 on 16 June, 2012.
P.M.Entertainment learnt that members of the new Afrikan Shrine led by Yeni Kuti are currently planning an elaborate party to mark Femi’s golden age.
To this end, a committee has been set up to make the event a success.
Investigations revealed that apart from engaging top acts to honour the man popularly called ‘Soki’ , the committee is also selling the popular ‘aso-ebi’, which will be adorned by friends and well wishers.
A source close to the committee told P.M.Entertainment that though Femi is excited that he is turning 50, he did not want an elaborate party,’but he is being forced to hold the party by Yeni and others’.
