A Chieftain of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, and former member of the House of Representatives, Dino Melaye, has described the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in last Saturday’s governorship election in Kogi State as “temporary and evaporative.”

Melaye who spoke with Political Platform on phone, urged President Goodluck Jonathan and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to produce the original result of the election as the one released on Sunday did not reflect the wishes and aspiration of the people of Kogi State.

“As at Saturday night, the ACN had won in about 14 out of sixteen local governments but before daybreak, we discovered that the results had been manipulated; we are saying that the ACN will not take it lightly and we are going to fight it in the court. I want to advise Kogites to remain peaceful and law-abiding and to assure them that this stolen mandate will be restored in a matter of months,” he said.

“I want to tell the PDP that their victory over the ACN is temporary and evaporative and that it is just a matter of time. We call on INEC to ameliorate the situation because the results sheets were falsified and duplicated, INEC should release the original results because the one released does not reflects the wishes and aspiration of Kogi people.

“The truth of the matter is that the PDP graduated from winning election through the use of thugs to falsification of results which is scientific rigging,” he added.
