I Have No Regrets, Says Laolu Akins At 65

According to him, “I have no regrets at all in life, my talent is God–given and He has always been there for me,” praying that the nation should be better for both the rich and the poor.

He also said that Nigeria’s music industry has experienced various minuses which have over the years retarded the progress which it could have made owing to disunity among stakeholders and the menace of piracy.

He therefore urged the Federal Government to assist the industry, not only by making laws, but to enforce it to the letter.

Laolu Akintobi was a member of the defunct group called BLO that held sway in the late 1960s and has produced award wining hit albums including Sir Shina Peters’ Ace and Shinamania as well as Adewale Ayuba’s Bubble, which won him a platinum for selling more than 250,000 copies.

Others are Salawa Abeni, Abass Akande Obesere, Onyeka Onwenu, Mike Okri, Funmi Aragbaye, Ayo Balogun, Wale Thompson and Kingsley Ogunde.

Presently, he is the CEO of a multi-million naira studio known as dB 54 based in Ogba, Lagos, southwest Nigeria.
