Suspected armed robbers Wednesday raided the depot of a beer distributor in Ogba, Lagos in the afternoon.

The six suspects arrived the depot known as Mimosa Ventures Nigeria Limited located on Shonola Street, Ogba, in Ojodu LCDA around 3.45p.m. and shot one of his customers.

A salesmen in the company who identified himself simply as Nicholas, said the suspects were six and came on motorcycles. “Three stood at the entrance to the premises, while the other three came in with guns and held us hostage. They shot a customer who came to buy beer and ransacked the whole place.

“Various items, including handsets, wallets, laptops, two cashbooks belonging to Springbank and UBA and an undisclosed sum of money were taken away by the hoodlums.”

One of the suspected robbers, P.M.NEWS gathered, was shot by an OPC member while escaping.

Meanwhile, residents of the area have appealed to the state government to come to their aid by deploying policemen from the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, to the area.

Princewill Eke, a barbing salon operator in the area disclosed that armed attacks occur in the area on daily basis and urged the government to act fast. “Something should be done about these attacks. This same company was robbed last September and nobody was caught. It has happened again. Nobody is really safe these days, particularly with robbers riding on motorcycles,” he added.
