3 Men Attempt To Defraud Golden Chance Lotto Of N20m

Three persons have been arrested for attempting to defraud Golden Chance Lotto of N20 million.

The suspects, Taiwo Musa resides at 14, Unity Street, Aboru, Alagbado, Ogun State, Kazeem Olajide of 32, Kilani Street, Dopemu, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos and Babatunde Yusuf reside at 31, Ojora Street, Olodi Apapa, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

The suspects fraudulently opened the lotto machine of Golden Chance and staked N70,000 to win the sum of N20 million, property of Golden Chance Lotto of 58, Malla Close, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS, the Managing Director of Golden Chance Lotto, Mr. Charlse Arthur said: “The main offence is that they tampered with what we use to play the lotto called terminal and it communicates using SIM card to our office. I mean off line transaction. What they did was to reverse the date by one hour.

“Winning number comes out at 3 pm everyday, and our own 3 p.m. is their own 2 p.m.. When the winning came we called it unusual winning, people usually stake with N500, N1,000 and the maximum is N2,500. When we went to check the server it revealed all their shady deals.”

The case has since been charged the chief magistrate’s court Ikeja, and it was adjourned till 10 August, 2011, while the suspects are beign remanded at Kirikiri Maximum Prisons.
