A member of the House of Representatives representing Oshodi/Isolo federal constituency, Hon. Akinderu Fatai, has tasked Governor Babatunde Fashola to ensure that only credible and hard working people are appointed as members of his cabinet.

He said a situation where ‘dead wood’ and incompetent persons were appointed into the cabinet in the name of political compensation would slow down the rate at which the state is being transformed.

Akinderu who spoke at a thanksgiving service organised by the All Christians Leaders/ Ministers Forum for elected public office holders in Oshodi/Isolo federal constituency, said only competent appointees were best for the state.

“Governor Fashola should not allow any mediocre into his cabinet in the name of party compensation; he should ensure that only those who are ready to work like him, those who are ready to impact the lives of the people should be appointed into his cabinet,” he advised. According to him, the call is necessary in order to improve upon the development tempo recorded in the first term of Fashola’s administration and the accolade it had received within, and beyond the country.

The federal lawmaker, who urged the people to pray for good governance in the country, charged them to be patient with the government, adding that the dividends of democracy would definitely spread across the state in the second term of Fashola’s administration.
