Staff of the Lagos State Lands Bureau have showered encomium on Senator-elect, Mr. Gbenga Ashafa, for contributing immensely to the development of the ministry.

Ashafa served as Permanent Secretary in the ministry for about 10 years. At a valedictory session held for him, the Permanent Secretary, Lands Bureau, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, commended Ashafa for his landmark achievements during his tenure.

According to him, Ashafa was able to transform the operation of the bureau to achieve maximum results by increasing the revenue generation base from N3.3billion in 2001 to N21 billion as at December 2010.

“He was also instrumental to the computerisation of documents in the State Land Registry, as well as the creation of the 30 days governor’s consent to subsequent transactions on land,” he said.
