Chief Coach of Super Eagles, Samson Siasia has declared that the final of Ogun 2011 WAFU Nations Cup between Nigeria and Togo will be tough.

The home-based Eagles beat arch rivals, the Black Stars of Ghana 2-1 in an explosive semi final at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta to set up the final with Togolese Hawks, who beat the Lone Star of Liberia 4-2 in the first semi final yesterday.

Speaking ahead of the final clash scheduled for tomorrow, Siasia noted that on paper, the Eagles are favourites, but advised that they should not bank on this advantage and go to sleep expecting victory to come their way easily.

According to the former Nigerian international; “Our match against the Togolese will be another explosive encounter like that of the semi final against Ghana’s Black Stars. We are not going to rest on our oars because Togo parade young and vibrant players, who are hungry for glory.

“That’s why I told my players that they should be at their best in the match if they want us to retain the WAFU Cup this year. I have no doubt in my mind that we will come out victorious over the Togolese side, but the team must work for it.”

Warri Wolves star, Ekigho Ehiosun, who scored a brace to nail the Ghanaian team in yesterday’s semi final said the Eagles are battle ready to confront Togo in tomorrow’s final.

“The spirit is high after our victory against Ghana. We are in a good mood for the final and nothing will stop us from winning the trophy,” he said.
